‘Few aged care homes’ achieve key staffing requirements

NSW health issues meningococcal warning

NSW Health is calling on the community to be vigilant for symptoms of meningococcal disease following the recent death of a 50-year-old woman from Sydney. Meningococcal disease is caused by the bacterium Neisseria meningitidis , which can lead to serious infections in the brain lining, spinal cord, and bloodstream. It's estimated that meningococcal infections cause 700 to 800 hospitalisations and close to 40 deaths in Australia each year.
