This essential public good I’m referring to is Medicaid. The full House passed its version of the bill in May 2025 with more than $620 billion in Medicaid cuts that would reduce enrollment by over 10 million. Medicaid accounts for about half of spending on long-term care and approximately 19% of hospital revenue.
