10 MORE Educational Instagram Accounts for Nurses

Many of you may have seen my last post on some of my favorite educational nursing Instagram accounts, and hopefully, you’ve gone and followed the ones not already on your lists. Of course, my list of favorite IG nurses is far too long to be contained in one top 10 list…so I’m back with 10 more for you.

I’m once again sticking to accounts that don’t just entertain me but are constantly teaching me new things, offering me refreshers on content that may have faded since nursing school, or just giving me different perspectives from which to see others’ experiences. All of them are valuable to my work at the bedside and my growth as an aspiring educator.

Just as I did in the last post, I’m going to link you to each account and give you a little explanation about why they made this list. I encourage you to check out each one and add them to your “following” list, too. You can click on the photo and be whisked away to their page - just be sure to get through the whole list before you fall down and IG wormhole.

nursenacole | Nicole Riccaboni APRN

Nacole is one of the first internet nurses I started following when I was in school, and I’ve learned so much from her. She’s a great source for so much from tough love inspiration to tidbits like inaccuracies of pulse oximetry on dark skin, NP resources and books, and a bonus - photos of her adorable kids.

ashleyadkinsrn | Ashley Adkins, MSN, RN, CCRN

Ashley brings awesome content. She’s another I’ve been following for years. Lately, she’s been sharing the sobering realities of working in a COVID ICU, blew my mind with an Excel spreadsheet for tracking P/F ratios, covered estate planning, and even covers basics like how to prep for an admission. Her account is worth a deep dive.

seanpdent | Sean P Dent,   MSN, ACNP-BC, CCRN

I’m hitting all the old favs in this post. I wanna shout-out the series “Hey Sean” in which he answers questions submitted by followers. While he’s hot on the Tik Toks these days, Sean’s archive is vast and there are lots of videos about how to get better, keep humble, and deal with the increasing number of challenges in healthcare today.

kati_kleber | Kati Kleber, MSN, RN, CCRN-K

Kati is the 4th and last in this list whom I’ve been following since I was a student and she was just starting out, I think. I credit so much.  Of what I know to her and her guests. She’ll help you sharpen your head-to-toe assessment skills, teach you how to land jobs, build confidence,  and send you cheat sheets from a growing collection of crash courses on tons of specialties and skills.

wali_khann | Wali Khan,  BSN, RN, sRNA

Wali is a more recent find for me, but I’m hooked to reading his posts. He brings to light cultural considerations for Muslim men considering nursing, getting into CRNA school, failing NCLEX and not giving up, and lots of other thought-provoking conversations. I like the way he writes and how much integrity he displays.

docmillernursecoach | Sharrica Miller, PhD, RN

Sharrica is a coach for new and seasoned nurses alike. She focuses on self-care, professional development, boundary drawing, and advice for experienced nurses wanting to expand their careers beyond the bedside. She’s also been at it a while so there’s plenty of content to keep you busy awhile.

leveluprn | Cathy Parkes BSN, RN, CWCN, PHN

I wish I’d had this account in my life when I was working on my ADN. This account gets back to the fundamentals of nursing care. While Cathy has tons of flashcards for sale, she’s also got guides for studying, content on skill mastery, tips of the day, and lots of other free content for students.

christinaaaaaaanp | Christina, Oncology NP

I first learned about Christina on Tik Tok, but she’s an Insta queen, too. She’s here for COVID and vaccine education, myth debunking, explaining public health reporting, and so many other hyper-current topics in medicine. And she doesn’t mince words. She’s my hero.

thediabetesnp | Kim E., FNP

Kim’s account has a variety of gems. She talks goal setting for NPs, tips for better patient education, links to videos on diabetes management, snapshots on diabetes medications, and recently, and recently, how sickle cell disease can affect the HgB A1C test. All nurses could use more of this content.

yournursingprofessor | Safiya Daley MS, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Professor Daley provides brilliantly concise but thorough med education, common medical language and abbreviations, tips for new nurses and lots of tips to level up your bedside game. You can even catch some affirmations as you scroll.

So there you have it. Ten more nursing IG accounts that keep my mind working and learning instead of just mindlessly scrolling. I encourage you to check out the accounts you’ve not seen before and let me know which ones keep your attention. I love hearing from you guys and never get tired of hearing your own recommendations for more great nursing accounts on the Gram.
