Longtime nurse administrator dies

Deborah Grotke, MSN, RN, a longtime nurse administrator, died July 13 at age 72, The Buffalo News reported Aug. 13.

Ms. Grotke started her career as an intensive care unit nurse at Buffalo (N.Y.) General Medical Center and facilitated an infusion program at Home Nutritional Services and Baxter International. She went on to be executive director of the Professional Nurses Association of Western New York, District 1; was a surveyor for 22 years for The Joint Commission; and served for 20 years with the Army Reserve in the Army Nurse Corps, retiring with the rank of major.

She is survived by her husband, daughter and two grandsons.
