January 2024: The Next Generation of Nurses is Starting Strong

At the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, our community is off to an incredible start!

Check out these next generation nurses, PhD students Mickey Dhir, Faith Metlock, and Thomas Hinneh who are driving the equitable transformation of health—locally, nationally, and globally.

Mickey Dhir, NP-C, MSN, MBA, AAHIVS, PhD student, received the 2024 Deborah E. Trautman Future Nurse Leader Scholarship from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

PhD student Faith Metlock received the American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship for her research, “Social Determinants of Health, Psychological Health, and Hypertension in Black Women of Reproductive Age.”

PhD student Thomas Hinneh, MScIH, BScN, RN, received the American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship for his research “Social Determinants of Health and Cardiovascular Health Among Black Adults in Underserved Communities in Baltimore.”
